太子を見て涙をこぼすアシタ仙

Sage Asita, begins to cry after seeing the Bodhisatta Prince.

アシタ仙人は大変喜び微笑むが、それも束の間、彼の目からは涙が流れ出しました。

スッドーダナ王にはそれが何を意味するのかわかりませんでした。王は仙人に涙の訳を尋ねました。

仙人は「太子は最も優れた人になる相を具えています。この太子は、将来最上の徳と法を達成するでしょう。

彼は悟り、人々を苦しみから救うでしょう。でも、私はそれまで生きていることができません。」と答えた。

そう言いながら、アシタ仙は太子の前にひざまずき、礼拝しました。これを見て、王もまたひざまずき、

太子を礼拝しました。

The Ascetic was immensely pleased, He smiled but in a tｒice , tears came into his eyes.

King Suddhodana found it difficult to understand what this meant. The King asked the Ascetic the reason

for the tears. The Ascetic responded thus: "The Infant Prince possesses the bodily marks of super

Human-being . This infant will one day achieve the highest in Virtue and Righteousness. He will attain

Enlightenment and will release worldlings from their suffering. But, I will not be alive when this happens.

"So saying, he knelt before the Infant Prince snd worshipped Him. Seeing this, the King too knelt down

and worshipped the Infant Pince.
